Sandy River Delta project: An elliptical bird blind designed by Maya Lin as part of the Confluence Project, which commemorates the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the Pacific Northwest (1804-6). The slats, crafted of sustainable and durable Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), are inscribed with the names of 134 species that Lewis and Clark noted in their journals, Confluence of the Columbia and Sandy Rivers, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Oregon, USA, November, 2008_WA_1592
